After breakfast, visit the Cu Chi Tunnels (75 km) northwest of HCMC, network of tunnels dug during the Vietnam War guerillas, with e level and stretching more than 200km. Experience the environment where guerrillas lived and fought underground by climbing the narrow passage along. Above ground lies the wreckage of American helicopters end task. After lunch, depart for Vung Tau, a well-known coastal resort 125 km southeast of HCMC. Upon arrival, visit to the Tian Hou Temple of Five Races, the whale temple. In the evening, enjoy the freshest seafood in a local restaurant and a round cape drive along the seaside with sightseeing by dawn. Overnight in Vung Tau.

View some of Dalats spectacular landscapes and visit sites such as the Old Railway Station which was built during French colonial times and take a ride in the old diesel train to Trai Mat village and visit the historic Linh Phuoc pagoda and Emperor Bao Dai’s villa. Proceed to Nha Trang (250 km), Vietnam’s premier beach resort. Overnight in Nha Trang.


Day 3: NHA TRANG
After breakfast, drive to the port of Cau Da and take a boat to visits some islands. Lunch in a local restaurant and in the afternoon visit Hon Chong Rocks, Po Nagar Cham Towers, Long Son Pagoda and Xom Moi Market. Overnight in Nha Trang.

DAY 1: ARRIVE HANOI

Arrival in the administrative and political capital of Vietnam, located on the Red River Delta. Orientation tour: Hoan Kiem Lake, or Lake of the Restored Sword, Ngoc Son Pagoda the (The Temple of the Jade Mountain), dedicated to the genius of letters, which stands on an island in the middle of the lake. Visit Tran Quoc Pagoda built in the 6th, the temple dedicated to Quan Thanh Temple, Tran Vu genius. Lunch. Check-in at hotel. Water Puppet show. Dinner.


DAY 2: HANOI / HALONG BAY

Departure by road to Halong registered with world heritage by Unesco since 1994. Take a cruise through the idyllic bay on the emerald waters. Lunch on board with seafood. Cruise in one of the most beautiful bays in the world including a stop at the beautiful cave of Surprise. Night aboard a junk.


DAY 3: HALONG BAY / HANOI

Landing around noon and return to Hanoi. On the way, visit the most beautiful pagoda in Vietnam, But Thap pagoda. Arrive in Ha Noi. Dinner and overnight.


DAY 4: HANOI / LAO CAI
Visit the house on stilts of Uncle Ho, the One Pillar Pagoda. Then the old French Concession: Avenue de l'Opera, the Museum of Fine Arts. Visit the Museum of Ethnography (objects of everyday life of the 54 ethnic groups). Departure by night train to Lao Cai.


DAY 5: LAO CAI / SA PA
Early arrival and departure to Lao Cai to Sa Pa by minibus through a mountain road.Upon arrival, visit the market and visit the villages of Ta Van (where you can see petroglyphs) and Lao Chai. My stop in the village of Red Dao Tra populated. Walk and met with families who live in wooden houses.


DAY 6: SAPA / BAC HA

Drive to Bac Ha, dotted with villages mainly inhabited by Kinh. Then the market mountain. Back to Bac Ha and visit the village of Ban Pho.


DAY 7: BAC HA / HA GIANG
Visit Bac Ha Sunday market. Drive to Ha Giang, majestic natural setting, with traditional cultural activities. Viet ethnic groups live here with Tay, Hmong, lolo, Dao, Chinese. Many stops will have on the way for photos.


DAY 8: HA GIANG / DONG VAN

Drive to Dong Van. Visit Hmong villages along the road.


DAY 9: DONG VAN / CAO BANG

Visit Van Dong: the old district of Dong Van, composed of old mud house mixed with straw, the beautiful market in Dong Van. Proceed to Meo Vac, taking the beautiful and spectacular Ma Pi Leng Pass, World geological heritage recognized by UNESCO in November 2010. (Geological Park of Dong Van Plateau). Road to Cao Bang, small town in a beautiful setting.


DAY 10: CAO BANG / NATIONAL PARK, BA BE

Mountain road where you can explore the worlds of Tay, Nung, Hmong and Dao. Ba Be Lake "the Three Lakes" home to the Tay, Nung, Dao and Thai mostly in their houses on stilts. Embarking on small boats to visit the village of Pac Ngoi.


DAY 11: THE BA BE NATIONAL PARK
Continuation isits BaBe Lake


DAY 12: THE NATIONAL PARK OF BA BE / HANOI
Undulating road from where we see the last villages dai houses on stilts wearing a huge thatched roof. Passage through Thai Nguyen and visit the cultural museum of Ethnics of Vietnam. Arriving at night in Hanoi.


DAY 13: HANOI / DEPART

Day 3: SAPA / LAO CAI / HANOI - night train

After breakfast, spend a full day in Sapa’s surroundings countryside involving light trekking to explore scenic villages. The journey begins from Sapa by car to Lao Chai village, a Black Hmong settlement. From here, you can walk to Ta Van village where the Day (pronounced Zay) minority lives and have a rest and enjoy a picnic lunch. After lunch, the walk continues through a bamboo forest to Giang Ta Chai, a Red Dao minority village. After taking a well-earned rest near a waterfall, you will climb uphill to a road where the car is waiting to bring you back to Sapa. Enjoy a picnic lunch on the way and then walk through a bamboo forest until you reach Giangtachai, a Red Dao village. This part of the trek is fascinating on a number of levels as you will encounter beautiful landscapes and find out more about the colourful Red Dao tribe with their unique style of dress and interesting tradition. Day 4: SAPA / LAO CAI / HANOI - night train

and its surroundings (minority market) After breakfast at the hotel, you check out. You will then have an excursion to one of the charming minority markets in the region (depending on which day of the week it is). Market days: Tuesday: Coc Ly Market where you will meet the ethnic minorities from H’Mong Flower, Lachi, Nung and Fula. After visiting the market, take a trip on the Clear River before returning to Lao Cai.

Saturday: Can Cau Market is located in one of the valleys around Sapa. To reach the market, follow a spectacular road with beautiful scenery. This market is the weekly meeting point for Flower H’Mong, Fula, and Black H’Mong. This is one the most authentic markets in the region. After the market, visit some nearby villages before returning slowly to Lao Cai.

Sunday: Muong Khuong or Bac Ha Markets : the busiest market of the region where one can meet the H’Mong, Fula, Dao and other ethnic minorities who come to exchange their goods and gossips from their own community. After a local lunch, drive to Lao Cai for the overnight local train to Hanoi leaving at 20h15 (Note that Victoria train depart at 21h05). Overnight on the train. Option: After visiting the market, return to Hanoi by road (360km=7h) along the Red River. On the way, we could stop to visit some minority villages. Arrive in Hanoi early in the evening. Day 2: BUON MA THUOT / LAK LAKE

Breakfast at the hotel. Visit the town’s Ethnology Museum. Transfer to Lak Lake. Enjoy an elephant ride and cross Lak Lake to Mlieng village, home of the Mnong minority. Here you can walk in the village and discover traditional long houses. Overnight in Lak Lake in a traditional long house (community centre).


Day 3: LAK LAKE / BUON MA THUOT / PLEIKU

After breakfast, depart for Pleiku through the Ta Grong Pass and numerous tea and coffee plantations. The contrast between the green of the coffee plantations and the red laterite soil makes for some beautiful photos. Visit a Jarai village and their intricate funeral art. Each tomb is surrounded by several wooden carved statues representing each stage of life (subject to authorisation). Overnight in Pleiku.


Day 4: PLEIKU / KONTUM

After breakfast, depart to Kontum. Upon arrival, visit the seminary and Kontum’s charming wooden church built in 1913. The prayers are written in the three main languages of the minority people (Banhar, Sedang, Jarai) and if you are fortunate enough you may attend a Holy Mass which is always packed out with devotees all wearing their most beautiful clothes. Later visit the Banar villages of Kon Jari and Kon Kotu and visit the Communal House. Overnight in Kontum.

DAY 06: HUE / DANANG/ HOI AN

Coach to Hoi An, passing through the “Pass of the clouds”, Arrive in Danang, visit to CHAM Museum, where gathers the most beautiful collection of CHAM sculptures. Our journey continues to Hoi An. Lunch, visit to Hoi An City, previously called Faifo, classified at the world heritage by UNESCO. HoiAn is a perfect example of Vietnamese classic architecture, with the covered bridge, the houses in precious wood, dating from the 17th century, the communal houses of the congregations of Canton and Phuc Kien, and the numerous silk shops; bicycle rides thru the cozy old little streets. DAY 07: HOI AN / DANANG /SAIGON

Proceed to Danang airport, to take the flight to Saigon, Pearl of Far East . HoChiMinh city or Saigon has numerous architectural works, worth of interest: The Central Post Office, colonial construction in 1886, the “Notre-Dame” Cathedral, with neo-roman inspiration, and red bricks imported from Marseille (France), the Reunification Palace, former residence of the General governor of Cochin China, the Municipal theatre, the lively Ben Thanh Market and the busy Chinese quarters with shop and stalls, selling all kinds of goods.


DAY 08: SAIGON / BEN TRE / SAIGON

Day excursion in the luxuriant scene of the Mekong delta. Boat trip in small yawl, through the riverside of the Mekong, its canals, villages, orchards. Short trip on horse cart. Heading to the Mong Phu Village, 60kms West of Hanoi. The Mong Phu hamlet, more than 400 years old, is classified as “cultural village”, due to its architecture of red stones and its old existence. A pedestrian walk (about 2 hours) in this nice scenery, will allow us to better understand the traditions, the custom and the belief of the inhabitants. All around Mong Phu, the fields are sprinkled with graves as many immutable vigils; The “Dinh“ or town hall, topped with curved roof panels, is being used as place for religious ritual as well as meeting space. DAY 07: NGHE AN / QUANG BINH

We leave Nghe An for Quang Binh, superb site, surrounded by mountains, forests and sea. In the afternoon, visit of a geological wonder: the Phong Nha Cave, also registered at the world heritage by UNESCO. Phong Nha Cave offers 40kms of underground galleries and rivers. Thousands of years have carved enormous stalactites. Overnight and dinner in Quang Binh.


DAY 08: QUANG BINH / Traditional village of PHUOC TICH / HUE

Heading to Hue, passing by the very old village of Phuoc Tich, who still keeps the serenity of a traditional village. We continue to Hue, old royal capital of Vietnam, also registered at the world heritage by UNESCO. Boat trip on the Perfume River and visit the Thien Mu Pagoda: it is the most beautiful religious construction of Hue, with its octagonal tower and seven levels, over viewing the river then we visit the Dong Ba Market.


DAY 09: HUE

Drive to the old village of Thanh Toan, 15kms from Hue, well-known for its covered bridge and its beautiful country sceneries. The people of this village made a living by baking roof tiles from clay. Back to Hue, we continue our visit: Hue still keeps his imperial charm of majesty. Visit of the Minh Mang Mausoleum, then the Imperial city, surrounded by large moats, with the South Gate, the palace of supreme Harmony, the purple Forbidden City, where the emperor used to live with his family. Dinner with local special dishes.


DAY 10: HUE / DANANG / HOI AN

Drive to Danang and visit of the CHAM Museum, gathering the best collection of CHAM sculpture. We keep go on to Hoi An. Lunch en route. Visit Hoi An, previously called Faifo, also registered at the world heritage by UNESCO. Hoi An is a perfect example of Vietnamese classic architecture, with its covered bridge, its houses of precious wood, the communal houses of the congregations of Canton and Phuc Kien and its numerous silk shops; bicycle trip through the city, dinner in town and accommodation.


DAY 11: HOI AN / KONTUM

Through the Ho Chi Minh trail, national road 14. Early morning departure through the national road 14, former Ho Chi Minh trail, testimony of the Vietnam war. This new road, called Transnational, should make more space to the national 1, famous coastal road; before people called it “Mandarin route“. We pass through Kham Duc, winding through primary forest and rapids. This is true jungle! Continuing the transnational road, by passing through the mountain pass of LOXO: nice minority villages are gathering along the road. Further, it is the boundaries of the 3 countries: Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia. Visit of the DAKRIPENG village (Sedang minority) and the “Phoenix “airfield. Arrival at Kontum in late afternoon. Dinner and accommodation.


DAY 12: KONTUM

Heading to the village of KONKETU, crossing the hanging bridge of KONKLOR for a pedestrian visit of the Konjuri village. Trekking in the jungle to reach the village of KONBAH. Picnic lunch and bathing in the clear, unspoiled waters of the DAKBLA River. Back to Konteku village. Unforgettable experience in a pirogue trip on the river…! Show of Banar danses and songs, we will dance with the villagers around a big wood fire. Tasting rice alcohol from a big jar, with a long bamboo straw. Overnight in the village, in the communal house.


DAY 13: KONTUM / PLEIKU / BAN ME THUOT

Continuing our visits of KONTUM: the wooden church, the very nice house of the archbishop, considered as a museum, then the village of PLEITONGHIA. Lunch at Pleiku, then continuing to Ban Me Thuot, visit of the ethnographic museum. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.


DAY 14: BAN ME THUOT / SAIGON

You can find large coffee plantations in the central highland. Visit Ban Me Thuot: we go to the JUN village. Elephant ride, then we cross the river to visit another village called M’Lieng. Little walk to meet the villagers, lunch then back to Ban Me Thuot. Transfer to the airport for your flight to Ho Chi Minh City.


DAY 15: SAIGON / BEN TRE / SAIGON

From Saigon, we drive to Ben Tre. Visit the Turtle Islands. This island remains still original with its country houses, its little canals edged with water coconut trees. Cart trip, driven by a horse, tasting local tea with honey, and listening to typical folkloric songs of South Vietnam. Lunch at an orchard, taste the famous “Elephant Ear” fish cooking by the local people. Return to Saigon.


DAY 16: SAIGON / DEPARTURE

Visit Saigon city in the morning – the lively China town, the Binh Tay Market, full of all kind of consuming goods, the temple of the Heaven Lady Thien Hau, the Ben Thanh Market, lunch in the city – afternoon visit of the “Notre-Dame” Cathedral, the general Post Office building, the reunification Palace and finally transfer to the international airport.

DAY 01: HANOI ARRIVAL

Arrival in Hanoi. Welcome and transfer to your hotel. First contact with the capital, orientation tour: the Hoan Kiem Lake, the Ngoc Son pagoda, dedicated to the genius of Literature. We further visit the Tran Quoc Pagoda, built in 6th century, then the Quan Thanh temple, dedicated to the Tran Vu genius. Strolling in the old quarter of the 36 corporations, real heart of the Old Hanoi, where all the street names starts with the word “Hang “ that reminds to the product or the job that people were practicing in the past. Dinner in town and overnight at your hotel.


DAY 02: HANOI, VISIT OF THE CITY / LAO CAI

Deeper visit of the Capital and discovery of its colonial and traditional atmosphere: The marble mausoleum, the One Pillar pagoda, erected by king Ly Thai Tong, the Ho Chi Minh house in stilts, the temple of literature built in 11th century, considered as the first University of Vietnam. We continue our visit in the afternoon: the ethnographic museum, rickshaw tour in the old quarter of the city. Water puppet show, then transfer to the railway station for Lao Cai. Overnight on board.


DAY 03: LAO CAI / SAPA

Early arrival at Lao Cai, transfer by road to SAPA. Check-in at your hotel, breakfast. Then visit of the Sapa market, pedestrian walk up to the H’mong Cat Cat Village. Lunch in town. In the afternoon, we visit the TaVan and Lao Chai villages. Overnight in Sapa.


DAY 04: SAPA / BAC HA / LAO CAI / HANOI

Drive to Bac Ha to visit a very colorful market. This day must be a Sunday. Lunch at Bac Ha, drive to Lao Cai to take night train back to Hanoi.


DAY 05: HANOI / HA LONG

Early arrival in Hanoi, transfer to our hotel to enjoy breakfast. Road to HA LONG, registered at world heritage by UNESCO in 1944. Cruising on a traditional junk through the wonderful sceneries. Sea food lunch on board. Visit the marvelous caves, dinner and overnight on board.


DAY 06: HA LONG / NINH BINH

Landing around noon time. Road to Hoa Lu - Ninh Binh, old capital of Vietnam. Dinner and overnight at your hotel.


DAY 07: NINH BINH / HANOI / HUE

Visit of the temples of the Dinh and Le dynasties, original and splendid architectural work, then the site of Trang An. Boat trip on flat bottom boats, through the peaceful sceneries. Then visit Bai Dinh Pagoda, the biggest pagoda in northern Vietnam. Lunch at Hoa Lu. Bicycle rides or cart ride, driven by a buffalo, through the country side. Back to Hanoi. Transfer to the railway station to take the S1 train for Hue. Overnight on the train.


DAY 08: HUE

Arrival at Hue in the morning. Transfer to your hotel to enjoy breakfast. We start to visit HUE, that still keeps the imperial charm. Boat trip on the Perfume River and visit the Thien Mu Pagoda. It is the oldest and most beautiful religious construction of HUE, the Imperial City, surrounded by large moats, with the South Gate, the palace of Supreme Harmony, the Forbidden City, where the Emperor used to live with his close family. In the afternoon, we visit Minh Mang’s mausoleum. Dinner with local specialities.


DAY 09: HUE / DANANG / HOIAN

Heading to Hoi An, passing through the “pass of he Clouds”, Arrive in Danang, visit of the CHAM museum, that gathers the most beautiful collection of CHAM sculptures. Our journey continues to Hoi An. Lunch, visit of Hoi An City, previously called Faifo, classified at the world heritage by UNESCO. HoiAn is a perfect example of Vietnamese classic architecture, with the covered bridge, the houses of precious wood, dating from the 17th century, the communal houses of the congregations of Canton and Phuc Kien, and the numerous silk shops; bicycle rides thru the cozy old little streets. Dinner in town. Overnight at hotel.


DAY 10: HOIAN / DANANG / SAIGON

Fly to Ho ChiMinh city or Saigon, the pearl of the Far East Orient. HoChiMinh city or Saigon has numerous architectural works, worth of interest: The Central Post Office, colonial construction in 1886, the “Notre-Dame” Cathedral, with neo-roman inspiration, and red bricks imported from Marseille (France), the Reunification Palace, former residence of the general governor of Cochin China, the municipal theatre, the lively Ben Thanh Market, and the busy Chinese quarters with shop and stalls, selling all kind of goods.


DAY 11: SAIGON / BEN TRE / SAIGON

Day excursion on the luxuriant environment of the Mekong Delta. Boat trip through the branches of the river, the canals, the typical villages, the orchards. Short drive with horse driven carts, tasting of local products, tropical fruits and tea with honey. Lunch and return to Saigon.


DAY 12: SAIGON / DEPARTURE

Free at leisure till departure. End of our tour services.
